Kilimanjaro Treks: Explore the African Giant

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, standing at about 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level. It’s located in Tanzania  and is a free-standing volcano, meaning it isn’t part of a mountain range. Kilimanjaro has three main volcanic cones: Kibo (the highest), Mawenzi, and Shira.

It’s famous for its snow-capped summit, diverse ecosystems (from tropical forests at the base to alpine deserts and glaciers at the top), and as one of the most popular trekking destinations in the world. Despite its height, climbers don’t need technical mountaineering skills to reach the summit — just good fitness and acclimatization to altitude.
